Work at SHRM

SHRM’s ongoing digital transformation — driven by continuous innovation in content strategy and delivery — has been a major organizational priority. I played a key role in advancing this effort through initiatives such as:

  • Modernizing digital storytelling: Collaborating with Web Strategy to begin the transition of magazine articles from static web stories and flipbooks to Maglr, an interactive, media-rich, and fully responsive content platform.

  • Driving SEO and audience relevance: Optimized legacy and new content based on SEO trends, internal search data, and member inquiries to align with user intent and boost discoverability.

  • Establishing digital content governance: Developed style and usage guidelines for internal and external crosslinks, call-to-action buttons, and visuals to ensure a consistent, accessible user experience.

  • Refining site taxonomy: Collaborated with digital teams to restructure SHRM’s website taxonomy to improve navigation and content discoverability across the online library.

  • Reimagining member resources: Overhauled the strategy and design of popular members-only resources, including toolkits and how-to guides, and spearheaded the creation of new digital tools such as cost calculators and interactive graphics.

  • Leveraging generative AI responsibly: Introduced AI-assisted workflows to streamline repetitive editorial tasks and enhance creative processes such as story ideation, optimized web headline writing, and interview preparation — without replacing human expertise.

Website Redesign

My Role

  • Served as project manager overseeing all stages of the website redesign, from planning and vendor coordination to content migration and launch.

  • Acted as lead content creator and writer, ensuring all copy aligned with updated brand standards and user experience goals.

  • Advocated for and shaped the development of a searchable K–12 recipe library and digital magazine article library, both designed with filters and tagging systems to improve content discoverability and user engagement.

SNA Newsletter/Email Marketing Rebranding & Updates

My Role

  • Established a cohesive visual identity for SNA’s newsletters and marketing emails — which previously lacked consistent branding — by developing custom templates, redesigned layouts, refreshed content, and email style guides aligned with SNA’s overall brand standards, enhancing both brand authority and readability.

  • Led the platform transition of SN Express, SNA’s weekly newsletter, from a dated Constant Contact format to a modern, visually engaging design on the Axios platform, resulting in a cleaner layout, improved mobile readability, and stronger member engagement.

  • Created and launched a new revenue-generating product, Side Dish — a twice-monthly dedicated email featuring sponsored content from industry partners — that became an instant success, generating tens of thousands of dollars in its first year.
